Michael Slattery Obituary

Littleton

Michael P. Slattery, 61, a Littleton resident, passed away on February 28, 2022 after a brief illness at Emerson Hospital in Concord. He was surrounded by his loving brothers and their spouses.

?Michael was born in Lowell, MA, on June 30, 1960. The first son of the late James M. Slattery and the late Mary A. (Flaherty) Slattery, he was initially raised in Lowell and made his home in Wrentham, MA, for many formative years until he eventually settled in Littleton, MA.

As a child, Michael enjoyed outings with his parents and four siblings. He took pleasure in entertaining the Sacred Heart neighborhood kids with his legendary eating prowess. As an adult, Michael would eagerly participate in various outings with housemates and friends, or more far-flung adventures that included several cruises and a trip to Disney. Of course, he was game for any activity that included food.

Michael spent his days as an active participant at Minute Man Arc in Concord, MA. Staff there and at Littleton House would initially be struck by Michael's quiet and accommodating demeanor. But they quickly unearthed his subversive humor, stubborn streak and insatiable demand for evergreen twigs. His sense of humor was exceeded only by his sense of style. Michael liked to dress nicely and owned more ties than the brothers Brooks.

In addition to his parents, Michael was pre-deceased by his sisters Jane A. Slattery and Maura E. Slattery-Machold. Survivors include brothers James M. Slattery and his wife, Lisa F. of Chelmsford, and Shawn J. Slattery and his wife, Lisa M. of Andover; eight nieces and nephews Katherine Machold, Bridget Machold, Declan Machold all of Andover, Seamus, Padraig, and Maeve Slattery all of Chelmsford, and Brendan Slattery and Michael Slattery of Andover. Extended family includes Cathy Goguen, Irene Flood, Denene Hurteau and numerous others at Minute Man Concord and Littleton.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to: Minute Man Arc, 35 Forest Ridge Road, Concord, MA 01742 or at: https://minutemanarc.org

On Saturday, March 5, 2022 all are welcome to attend his funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Parish Church at St. Marie's Church, 30 Grafton Street, Lowell, MA.
