Mim was an intelligent, respected colleague and friend who could never do enough for others. She was charming, caring, loving, sincere, effervescent, warm, and witty with a great sense of humor, and of course, was totally Irish. Mim lit up whenever she talked of her children and grandchildren, and she had an impact on all who were fortunate to know her. Rest In Peace, dear Mim, and my thoughts and prayers are with Bob, Annamarie, and Margaret.

When Miriam was an undergraduate at Creighton University (I believe in the 1970s), she assisted me in running the Honors Program as a work-study student. At the time, I was a professor of philosophy and running the Honors Program. I well remember her infectious smile and her efficiency in managing the bureaucratic side of managing a program. I recall once painting to a disorganized pile of papers on a table and complaining about my--definitely not her--mess. She said, "no problem," and within an hour organized all of it and sent out a cluster of memos. She was amazing. And her infectious smile--I can picture it as clearly today as 40 plus years ago. She was an amazing young--that's how I remember her--woman!

Bob, Margaret, and Annamarie, I am so sorry to hear that Mim has lost her battle, but I find relief in the idea that she is released from the pain she must have been in. She was one of the sweetest, most invested teachers I know. I also enjoyed seeing Mim and Bob’s loving partnership in such small things as a hand on the shoulder or an assist with putting on a coat. I know you’ve lost someone dear to you. Se as her colleagues feel that too, but I hope you will find comfort in all the good memories, large and small, which being a smile to your face, knowing it’s Mim who is reminding you she is still with you. With love, Jen
