Richard Pimentel Obituary

Veteran Richard D. Pimentel, 81, passed away Saturday, August 14 at his home in Hudson NH, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Somerville, MA on October 9, 1939, he was the eldest son of Ele A. and Mary T.(Silva) Pimentel.
He was raised and attended school in Dracut, where he was employed until his retirement. He was a proud Navy veteran, serving on the naval destroyer the USS Wallace L. Lind.
He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and a fearless cancer fighter.
He was blessed with a large, close family, dining monthly with his siblings until a cancer diagnosis in 2018. He fought cancer using traditional treatments and off-label drugs while bravely experimenting on himself to overcome the disease. He survived many expected death dates, baffling his doctors, until a second aggressive cancer, kept dormant for a year, ended his fight.
Rick is survived and will be missed by his loving wife of 54 years, Mary 'Pat' Pimentel, his children: Richard Pimentel Jr., David Pimentel and his wife Laura, Darlene Pimentel-Tawney, Daniel Nicholson, Kim Savary and her husband Ray, Stephen Pimentel, Derek Pimentel and his wife Lisa, 19 loving grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, his loving siblings: Lee 'Jr.' Pimentel and his wife Sharon, Edward Pimentel and his wife Nancy, Sheila McNulty and her husband Ray, Debbie Vachon and her husband Paul. He also leaves brother in law David 'Jerry' Reilly and his partner Anna Silva and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late Donald Pimentel, Lisa King, Douglas Nicholson and brother of the late Victor and Robert Pimentel.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, his services will be private.
