Robert Herrmann Obituary
Robert (Bob) was born in Hartford CT on April 14, 1945 to Evelyn (May) and Frank Herrmann. Bob was a graduate of Westford Academy in 1963 where he was known as "Rock" a man of solid build and athletic abilities and Westford Hall of Famer for football and wrestling. Bob went on to study Automotive Repair at The Franklin Institute in Boston MA.
In 1963, he met the love of his life Marie Parrella and they married on October 13,1968 and evenutally settled in Westford where they would raise their 3 children. Bob & Marie were active members in the community and at sporting events.
In 1967 Bob opened Bob's Auto Service in Westford MA where he worked along side his sons for over 50 years. Bob was extremely proud of the business he built and he was well known around town for being a hard working, stand up guy. Bob was also a selectman in town from 1985 to 1996. He also was a cubscout leader and a Junior Wrestling Coach. He served on many town boards and committees through the years, and was he was currently serving on the Zoning Board of Appeals since 1999 and was a School Board Trustee for many years.
Over the last several years, Bob spent most of his summers in Ocean Park Maine where he and Marie enjoyed biking riding and relaxation. Bob was a loving husband and Grandfather, he was the happiest when spending time with his children and grandchildren with whom he made many precious memories.
Bob is survived by his wife Marie, his sons Marc Herrmann and wife Sara, Brian Herrmann and wife Kristen, daughter, Kate (Herrmann) Overton and husband John Overton, his grandchildren, Madisyn, Emma, Abigail and Jack Herrmann, Nicholas and Anthony Overton. As well as his sisters Linda Maynard, Bette Daley and brother Carl Herrmann & his wife Cindy and several nieces and nephews.
NOTICE
Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Bob for visiting hours on Wednesday, May 26 from 4:00-7:00 pm at BADGER FUNERAL HOME, 347 KING ST., LITTLETON. Funeral service will be Thursday at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Catherine's Cemetery, Westford. To share a memory or offer a condolence visit: www.badgerfuneral.com

My condolences to the Herrmann family during this difficult time. I'll always have fond memories of Bob from visiting the garage with my Dad, to Bob driving my school bus late in the year with all the windows down and Billy Joel playing over the speakers. Fantastic guy all around and he will be missed!

We never met Bob, but we know his son Marc. What a fine young man and we are sure he is a reflection of both his parents. Since we moved to Westford in 1994, he has made sure we could get out in a snowstorm by plowing our drive. Each year, we call to make sure he is still coming to our rescue. He always tells us, he will never forget us. Bob you raised a wonderful caring son. We are sorry we never could tell you but we know you knew already. Our arms are around Marc and the entire family in their grief. Rest In Peace. God be with you.

I am so saddened by Mr. Herrmann's passing and know how very much he was loved by his family. Growing up with his daughter, Kate, he always made me feel welcome and comfortable. I remember stopping by the house and he would try to intimidate with his glare and stern voice, but eventually his scowl would turn into a smirk and then laughter. I never fell for that charade and knew underneath he was just a big teddy bear. The Herrmann family is truly an example of family and community. He was a great man who will be missed by many. Thank you for the warm memories, Mr. Herrmann, and may you rest in peace as you watch over your loved ones.
