Robert Niemi Obituary

Nashua

Robert M. "Bob" Niemi, 64, a resident of Nashua, passed away on Friday, November 24, 2023, at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center, Nashua, surrounded by love. He was the beloved husband of Darlene F. (Tripodi) Niemi with whom he shared 43 years of marriage and three beautiful daughters with.

He was born in Lowell on July 31, 1959, and was the son of the late David A. Sr. and Stella M. (Brady) Niemi.

Bob was a proud member of IBEW Local 1505 and served 44 years at Raytheon Technologies. Bob grew up in Dracut and Lowell and enjoyed playing sports and other outdoor activities with his brothers as he grew up making lifelong friends along the way. He married Darlene Tripodi Niemi, 43 years ago and they shared a love for fishing and working in the yard. One of their favorite traditions was taking Saturday afternoon naps together. His greatest accomplishment was his three daughters they raised together to be strong & independent, Hollie, Heidi & Heather.

Bob had a wonderful way of storytelling and made friends wherever he went. He loved fishing and spending times outdoors, often listening to the Red Sox game on the radio. You could always find him with a car magazine in his hand. He was known for his kindness, gentleness and loving nature. In addition to his passion for fishing, Bob enjoyed wrestling, swimming and teaching his eight grandchildren all about New England sports. He looked forward to his yearly Christmas tree decorating and fishing trip with his brothers, in memory of their late father. Bob was an avid fan of the Bruins, Red Sox & Patriots. He loved following the many ups and downs of his beloved teams and enjoyed discussing the latest games with his daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren and all those that would listen.

Bob will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His memory will live on through the stories and love he shared with those around him.

In addition to his loving wife, Bob leaves his children, Hollie Anne Niemi and her partner Chris of Nashua NH, Heidi Divito and her partner Ray of Nashua NH and Heather Niemi-Brown and her partner Joe of Naples ME. His amazing grandchildren, Emma, James, Robert, Gino, Santino, Owen, Hunter and Jaxson. Bob also leaves behind his brothers, David Niemi Jr., Mark Niemi and his wife Sharon and many nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.

Visiting Hours will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023, from 2 – 5 pm at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., DRACUT. His funeral services and interment will be held privately. Funeral Directors Paul A. Hardy, Jr. & Jennifer Lebaropoulos Hardy.

So many memories in our youth and as adults. I feel terrible for your family. You changed my life back in 1973 when we first became the best of friends. We boxed, played baseball, hockey and everything imaginable as kids. It was so nice when you worked with me as an adult, we got to really share our childhood memories and had so many wonderful laughs. Rest in peace my friend and thank you for always being my brother.
