He was born in Lowell on Feb. 7, 1929, a son of the late Russell and Ruth (Davis) Swan.
Mr. Swan was a peacetime veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Walker Rogers Post 662 in Lowell, and the American Legion in North Chelmsford.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Swan was employed as a truck driver, and a school bus driver.
He was a member of the Teamsters Union, and the Fletcher Club in Westford. He was known by the nickname of "T."
He is survived by three sons and a daughter-in-law, Russell W. Swan and his wife Lorraine, Roger A. Swan, all of Lowell, and Ronald Swan of Daytona Beach, Fla.; three daughters and a son-in-law, Brenda and Thomas O'Loughlin of Rindge, N.H., Carolyn Swan and Janet Swan, both of Daytona Beach, Fla.; a brother and sister-in-law, Parker and Shirley Swan of East Hartford, Conn. Mr. Swan also leaves four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
