Walter F. "Sonny" Jarek, age 89, a resident of Billerica, formerly of Pelham, NH. He passed away peacefully at Lowell General Hospital, Saints Campus on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Natalie (Bornstein) MacDonald with whom he enjoyed six years of marriage and was the former husband of the late Mary (Christedes) Jarek who passed away in 2011.

He was born in Lowell on December 1, 1934 and was the son of the late Walter and Laura (Dulemba) Jarek.

Sonny had a passion for his career as an auto mechanic and loved working on and fixing cars. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time outdoors, gardening and cleaning up his yard. He loved trips to Foxwoods and Encore, and playing cards with friends and family. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his loving wife, Sonny is survived by his children, Deborah Contraros and her husband Robert Jr. of Derry, NH, Joanne Ferreira and her husband Frank of Pelham, NH, Walter Jarek III and his wife Deborah of Pepperell, Cynthia Geulakos and her husband James of Weeki Wachee, FL, and Nicholas Jarek and his wife Paula of Waxhaw, NC; his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren who affectionately called him Dzia Dziu which is grandfather in Polish; his siblings, David Jarek and his wife Beverly, Russell Jarek and his wife Karen, and Elaine Riley and her husband Robert; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and his first wife, Sonny was predeceased by his brothers, Robert, Richard, Roger, and Leonard Jarek.
