He was the husband of Ellen M. (Hourihan) Pigott.
He was born in Mount Stuart, Prince Edward Island, Canada, son of the late George H. and Fanny (Birt) Pigott. He graduated from English High in Boston. He later attended Rivier College in Nashua.
He resided in Westford and formerly lived in Boston's Hyde Park section.
Mr. Pigott served in the Army during World War II serving in the Signal Corp. during the North African Campaign and in India attaining the rank of tech 5.
Before retiring, Mr. Pigott was an air traffic controller for 25 years for the FAA in Nashua, and previously at Logan Airport in Boston.
Mr. Pigott was a private pilot. Later in life, he skied, and enjoyed sailing, working on cars, and tinkering.
Besides his wife, he is survived by four children, William W. Pigott Jr. and his wife, Christine Slapik of Brookline, Maura E. Joyce of Westford, Marron B. Ryan of Fitchburg, and Heather L. Vandermillen and her husband, Michael of Groton; six grandchildren, Delilah Pigott and her husband, Micah Steinhilb of Portland, Ore., Samuel D. Pigott of Boston, Ryan and Patrick Joyce, both of Westford, and Celeste L. and Henry W. Vandermillen, both of Groton; and many nieces and nephews.
