Brent T. Soller, 62, of Long Beach, Indiana, passed away Thursday, Aug. 22, 2024, at 4:53 p.m., in his home.
Private family services will be conducted. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, Indiana, is handling arrangements.
He was born Nov. 1, 1961, in Michigan City, Indiana, to Leonard and Nancy (Seeling) Soller.
Surviving are two daughters, Tara Soller of Lacrosse, Indiana, and Jaden Soller of Hudson, Indiana; son, Kyle (Kathryn) Soller of Wanatah, Indiana; two grandchildren, Adalyn Soller and Milo Metts; his mother, Nancy Soller of Long Beach, Indiana; and two brothers, Theodore (Patricia) Soller and Todd (Carolyn) Soller, both of Michigan City, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Soller.
Brent spent his professional working life as a public servant, serving the residents of La Porte County as a former LaPorte County 911 Communications Center Director. On Oct. 25, 2012, Brent was hired by the town of Long Beach where he has served for the past 12 years as a member of the Street Department.
Brent was an exceptional town employee who always arrived to work early, responded to after hour callouts, and plowed the Long beach roadways providing safe roads for the residents of the town each year. Brent was well known for his mechanical knowledge as he maintained the town's equipment, items such as the leaf vacs, mowers, snowplows, thus saving the town from having to send equipment out for repairs as he was able to fix the equipment personally.
He enjoyed flying his drone, spending time with his family and his beloved dog Trina was his pride and joy.
