Dennis K. Rector, 61, of Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Monday, May 10, 2021, at 12:23 p.m. in Franciscan Health Michigan City, Indiana.
There will be no visitation or service. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana, is handling arrangements.
He was born Aug. 7, 1959, in Michigan City, Indiana, to the late William Rector and Dorothy (Hodge) Blake. On Aug. 26, 1989, in Michigan City, Indiana, he married Betty (Coursel) Rector, who survives in Michigan City, Indiana.
Also surviving are daughter, Kristen (Gregory) Bates of Southgate, Michigan; son, Aaron (Sarah) Rector of Michigan City, Indiana; 10 grandchildren, Amara, Logan, Liam, Asher, Lana, Madisyn, Brayden, Isabella, Alivia and Aaron Jr.; two sisters, Linda Frier of Titusville, Florida, and Judy Vergin of Orlando, Florida; and brother, Paul Rector of Michigan City, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his brother, Steven Rector.
Dennis enjoyed grilling food, watching the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears, playing video games and listening to rock music. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and his two dogs, Jack and Lilly. Dennis loved his wife very much and enjoyed spending time with her and eating her cooking.
