Earl Scott Obituary

Earl D. Scott, "Earl the Pearl," 86, of Plymouth passed away in his home on Friday, June 17, 2022, with his loving family around him.

Earl was born in Bass Lake, Indiana, on April 20, 1936, to Josiah and Mary (Smith) Scott.

He joined the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War and was honorably discharged.

On Nov. 16, 1995, in Knox, Earl married Ellen Sue Scott. She would proceed him in death two years prior to the date on June 17, 2020.

Earl drove truck for Alexander Chemical in Kingsbury, Indiana, and later retired from the company. He would then enjoy being a Walmart greeter in Plymouth for 12 years until his official retirement at the age of 82.

He was a member of the Plymouth-Kilwinning Lodge 149 for more than 50 years, the American Legion Post 27, and the VFW County Post 1162.

He was a people person and loved being in large crowds and never stopped talking. He enjoyed gambling, Elvis Presley, caring for all animals and plants, and watching old westerns. Earl loved being around his family and he loved his Lord and will be dearly missed.

Earl is survived by his children, Veronica (Nerbert) Hoch of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Robin (Gary) Clemons and Jill (Jerry) Scott of Knox, Indiana, Duane (LeeAnn) Scott of Marengo, Indiana, Tommy (Lisa) Scott of Walkerton, Indiana, Shawn (Rachel) Scott of Corydon, Indiana, and Crystal (Harris) Pougue of Lexington, Alabama; stepsons, Jerry L. Grubbs and Steven R. (Jennifer) Troyer of Plymouth; siblings, Jim Scott, Joanne Owen and Sandy (Sewell) Dunn; 31 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; children, Sherry Quecke and Dennis Scott; and brother, Johnny Scott.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2022, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (ET) at Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth. A Masonic Ritual will begin at 1:30 p.m. and funeral services will immediately follow with Pastor Pat Allen officiating.

Burial will follow in the New Oak Hill Cemetery with Military Honors provided by members of the American Legion Post 27, Veterans of Foreign War- Mar- shall County Post 1162 and Disabled American Veteran Chapter 42.
