Eugene Joseph Gondek, 77, of Michigan City, Indiana, passed away peacefully with family friends at his side on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at 10:25 p.m. in Chesterton Manor, Chesterton, Indiana.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 1506 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana, with Rev. Walter Ciesla officiating. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Michigan City, Indiana. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of mass Wednesday at the church.
He was born on Jan. 4, 1948, in Michigan City, Indiana, to the late Joseph A. and Josephine B. (Osowski) Gondek.
Surviving are his family friends, the Ellwoods and Kylene Morland, both of Michigan City, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Eugene attended and graduated in 1969 from the Indiana School for the Deaf. He was employed for InterRoyal Inc. for several years. He always enjoyed his surroundings and his home in Michigan City. He also enjoyed his many visits to the Michigan City Public Library. Eugene cherished spending time with friends, chatting and visiting. Eugene was generous to others, being there for anyone.
