Glenna Fay White, 86, of La Porte passed away peacefully Friday, Feb. 3, 2023, in her home surrounded by her loving family.
Glenna was born Oct. 16, 1936, in Fredville, Kentucky, to Wile Wireman and Missouri (Watkins) Wireman.
On Nov. 22, 1956, Glenna married Burl White at Oakley Creek, Magoffin County, Kentucky.
Glenna was a homemaker, a mother who raised nine children, and was also a caregiver to several friends. She enjoyed gospel singing, Southern cooking, gardening, canning and raising chickens. Glenna had a passion for antiques and would browse garage sales and make lamps from the parts she found.
Surviving is her husband, Burl White; nine children, Judy (Bruce) Elkins of La Porte, Justine (Tim) Standifer of Hamlet, Justin (Helen) White of Germany, Matthew (Sandra) White of Union Mills, Millette Kay (John) Noble of Hamlet, John (Laura) White of North Judson, Imogene (Clarence) Holliday of Walkerton, David (Rhonda) White of Fredericktown, Missouri, and Joseph (Lisa) White of Hanna; one brother, Wile Wireman Jr. of Kentucky; three sisters, Vivian Pinkepank of La Porte, Janet (Charles) Standifer of Kentucky and Sharon (Von) Collins of Kentucky; 29 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren.
Glenna was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Barbara Combs; and one brother, Marvin Wireman.
A funeral celebrating her life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 10, 2023, at Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, 247 W. Johnson Rd., La Porte, 219-362-3100, with John and Mike Noble officiating. Visitation and viewing will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, 2023, and from 10 a.m. until time of service Friday, Feb. 10, 2023. Burial will take place at Kingsbury Cemetery, Kingsbury, Indiana.
