Janice E. "Ginny" White, 89, of Trail Creek passed away on Monday, Nov. 25, 2024, at Rittenhouse in Michigan City.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at Queen of All Saints Church. Burial will follow in Saint Stanislaus Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Friday from 10 until 11 a.m. at the Legacy Center at Queen of All Saints Church.
The Root Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Ginny was born June 2, 1935, in West Dundee, Illinois, to the late Edward and Madolyn (Dwyer) Kirmse.
On Oct. 29, 1960, she married John S. White, who passed away on Oct. 4, 2023, after 62 years of marriage.
Surviving are six children, Phillip White, Kathryn (Anthony) Winski, Thomas (Susan) White, Nancy (Drew) White, Margaret White and Theodore White; daughter-in-law; Lisa White; nine grandchildren, Jack, Hannah (Matt) White-Vilga, Sean, Ellyn, Max, Colin, Natalie, Jake and Jenna; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
She is preceded in death by one son, John E. White; daughter-in-law, Janet White; sisters, Katherine, Helen and Mary; and brothers, Phillip, John "Jack," Edward and Jerry.
Ginny was a faithful 50 year member of Queen of All Saints Church where she volunteered in the Adoration Chapel, Holy Hour Committee and Funeral Luncheon Committee. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who was very proud of her Irish heritage. She also volunteered for many years at St. Anthony/Franciscan Health Center. She loved to go bowling, travel and going out with family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society in her and her son, John's, memory or Alzheimer's Research or VNA-Hospice.
