Jeanette Ruby Eikelberg (formerly Jeanette Ruby Woolwine) passed away on the afternoon of Sept. 13, 2025, in Knoxville, Tennessee, in the loving care of her son, David W. Eikelberg, and daughter-in-law, Kennetha J. Eikelberg.
Jeanette was born on Nov. 27, 1928, to George Woolwine and Mary Woolwine (later Mary Jacoby). Jeanette is survived by her sister, Dorothy Kinas (formerly Dorothy Woolwine) of Sawyer, Michigan; her son, David Eikelberg; her grandson, Ashly Eikelberg; and her two great-granddaughters, Kensley Jean Eikelberg and Ingrid Susan Eikelberg.
Jeannette went to heaven to join her late husband, Wayne Henry Eikelberg; as well as her late daughter, Annetta Sue Eikelberg.
Jeanette married Wayne in La Porte, Indiana, on Dec. 8, 1947, at the First Methodist Church of La Porte. They celebrated 59 years of marriage before Wayne's passing in 2007. Jeannette spent her early life working at the Citizen's Bank, caring for her family and supporting charitable causes. In her retirement years she filled her time with her friends, shopping and never shied away from a new recipe clipped from Home and Garden magazine.
Jeanette loved spending time with her family, toll painting, the Pine Lake Grange Hall, craft fairs, and all things painting and pottery. She was a skilled baker and especially cherished everything about Christmas. She will be remembered by her friends and family for her kindness and good sense of humor.
No formal funeral services are being held by the family. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Jeanette's memory to the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation.
