Joan J. Houck, 82, of Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2025.
Joan was born on Jan. 12, 1942, in Michigan City, Indiana, to the late Roy and Margaret (Pearson) Flotow.
Joan was a homemaker and had been employed with JCPenney.
Joan loved spending time with her family and friends. She loved to cook, play cards, Scrabble, go to area casinos and traveling to Disney World and Las Vegas. She always had a smile and a laugh that was infectious. She will be missed by all that knew her.
On Feb. 3, 1962, Joan married Robert "Bob" C. Houck, who survives with daughters, Lori (Dave) Williamson of Michigan City and Julie Hebb of Michigan City; grandchildren, Jeff (Stephanie) Williamson, Bobby (Marci) Williamson, Christopher Hebb and Michael Hebb; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Sandra Cook; brothers, Don (Laurie) and Ron (Louise) Flotow; and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 12 noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2025, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana.
