Kathy Davis Obituary

Kathy A. Davis, 76, of Granger Indiana, and formerly of La Porte, passed away Oct. 31, 2024 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend.

Kathy was born Nov. 14, 1947, in Chicago, to August and Bernice (Evans) Neuendank. She was raised by an aunt, first in Southern California and later in La Porte.

She was a 1965 graduate of La Porte High School. Following her graduation, Kathy went to work for Whirlpool Corporation in the office on Factory Street in La Porte. Later in her career she worked for Farm Bureau Insurance in the Regional Claims Office where she managed the clerical support staff. In 2001, her husband's job took them to South Bend and a new residence in Granger, Indiana.

On Dec. 2, 1978, Kathy married Hugh M. Davis and together they enjoyed an almost 46-year marriage. Kathy is survived by her husband Hugh, one son William A. Davis of Granger, and two grandsons Andrew Davis and Nathan Davis of Fishers, Indiana.

At Kathy's request, there will be no visitation. A small graveside service for family will take place at Pine Lake Cemetery in La Porte officiated by Pastor Lee Whitman of the La Porte Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel in La Porte.

I met Kathy when she came to Naples, Fl at Ralph Lauren Store where I was a salesperson. She loved Ralph Lauren clothes and shoes. We kept in contact with RL and shopped via email. I Learned she was an avid gardener and member of the garden club. We both loved gardening and shared garden photos..her garden was a beautiful showpiece on the garden club tour and she grew love in her garden. I loved her stories of visiting friends..deer and birds enjoying too! God was in her garden too enjoying all the flowers he created! She joined my small group of friends who I send Bible verses Daily which were inspirations to Kathy and brought a smile to her heart and me! Her legacy is her beaautiful garden she left to share .She was a dear special friend who has gone to heaven and is smiling down at her family and friends and i talk to her now from my petite garden and God daily i know she and God are smiling down on me too.
Hugh has joined my Daily Bible group and Kathy is smiling!

I will miss my dear friend Kathy so very much! We had wonderful visits and conversations on the phone! She chose beautiful things in her home and had excellent taste in her surroundings and I admired her discerning choices. She loved Hugh and her family and always spoke of them and latest stories! She was a wonderful lady!
