Mary "Marjorie" Scarborough, 90, of Union Mills, Indiana, passed away on May 19, 2025, at her home, surrounded by the love of her family.
Marjorie was born on Dec. 31, 1934, in La Porte, Indiana, to John and Mary (Bealor) Amor.
On Nov. 10, 1956, at Salem Chapel United Methodist Church in La Porte, Indiana, she married John Scarborough, who survives. Also surviving are her three children, Gerald Scarborough of Union Mills, Renee (Jack) Sarver of Wanatah and Rachel (John) Gonzales of Union Mills; daughter-in-law, Anita Scarborough of La Porte; eight grandchildren, Shanon (Lisa) Scarborough of Koontz Lake, Cori (Ron) Walker of La Porte, Joshua Scarborough of Michigan City, Jyll (John) McNiel of Plymouth, Elizabeth Zbuka of Wanatah, Buck Sarver of Wanatah, Jonathan (Rebecca) Gonzales of Union Mills and Meggan Scarborough of La Porte; 14 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Ray and Bart Scarborough; two sisters, Virginia Gemberling and Elverta Coyer; and three brothers, Keith, Russell and Alan Amor.
Marjorie was a homemaker, who loved to welcome her friends and family. She enjoyed creating memories with her family. Marjorie was a member of Salem Chapel United Methodist Church.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Trish Johnsen officiating. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery Association.
A time of visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 23, 2025, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to Salem Chapel United Methodist Church, 2802 E. State Road 4, La Porte, IN 46350.
