Patrick Kubit Obituary

Patrick "Kelly" Kubit, 57, of Las Vegas and formerly of La Porte, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2022, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Kelly was born on Sept. 20, 1964, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Margaret (Haldiman) and the late Ronald Kubit.

Kelly spent his life growing up in La Porte. He was a former Slicer basketball player and Slicer assistant basketball coach for six seasons. Kelly's passion for sports and love for Chicago sports teams led him to become a Chicago White Sox season ticket holder for a number of years.

Kelly spent his free time volunteering for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Much of his career was running his contract truck hauling business. Kelly moved to Las Vegas in 2012, where he worked and enjoyed the beautiful desert weather.

Surviving are his children, Austin (Gretchen) Kubit of Rolling Prairie and Taylor (Greg) Toliver of Bridgman, Michigan; grandchildren, Rowan and Reagan Kubit, Stevie Ann and Bo Toliver; brother, James "Pat" (Robin) Kubit of La Porte; sister, Coleen Kubit of Indianapolis; and uncle, Chet Kubit of Indianapolis.

Cremation has taken place with Las Vegas Cremations.

Austin and Taylor welcome family and friends to join in a Celebration of Life on Friday, Nov. 11, 2022, from 5-7 p.m. at Pine Grove Banquet Hall, 4293 U.S. 35, La Porte, Indiana.
