Reva Joyce Conru, 85, of Michigan City, Indiana, a strong mother, grandmother and faithful disciple of Jesus, peacefully passed away at her home on Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2023.
She was born on May 23, 1938, in Michigan City to Ernest and Mildred Delco. Reva found love when she married Worth Conru on March 21, 1959. Worth, too, departed from this world in 2021.
Forever a country girl, Reva grew up valuing the importance of hard work and generosity. In addition to her role as a loving wife and mother of three children, Reva pursued a career as an electrician at Bethlehem Steel during the late 1970s, where she worked until her retirement in 1998.
Following her retirement, Reva dedicated long hours to woodworking with her husband, creating numerous pieces of beautiful furniture for family and friends.
Having traveled to all 50 states and six continents, Reva found her greatest joy when she was at home, visiting with friends and family, and being an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Chesterton, Indiana. She even embarked on one last European trip this year and found time to enjoy a motorcycle ride.
Although your family misses you very much, we know you are dancing in heaven with your cowgirl boots on. One day we will see you again. As you'd always say, "Lord willing and the crick don't rise."
Reva is survived by her three children, Kevin (Evgeniya) Conru, Susan (Andy) Fazekas and Andrew (Nonie) Conru; as well as her five cherished grandchildren, Max Conru, Theodore Conru, Lauren (Sebastian) Cooney, Ashley Fazekas and Samantha Fazekas.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2023, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, Indiana, 46304.
