Rose Marie "Rosie" Dobrzynski, born in Michigan City, Indiana, passed away on Feb. 25, 2026, at age 73.
She is survived by her children, Jeremy Freeman, Jennifer Stachler (Freeman), Renee Parker (Freeman) and Daniel Freeman; she cherished the time spent with her children in recent years.
She is also survived by her sisters, Doreen Smith (Dobrzynski), Lucille Dobrzynski and Christine Mehan (Dobrzynski); and her brothers, David Dobrzynski and Bert Shirley; as well as many nieces and nephews. Rosie shared a special bond with her sister Lucy (Lu) during their years together at the Soldiers' and Sailors' Children's Home in Indiana, a time she cherished deeply.
A loving and giving person, Rosie had a great sense of humor and enjoyed playing bingo and Yahtzee. She was a fantastic cook whose potato salad and beef stroganoff were as legendary as she was. Though small in stature, Rosie was little-but-dynamite – our beloved firework of the family. She attended Faith City Assembly of God in her youth. In her later years, she faithfully participated in church services at Aperion Care.
She was predeceased by her parents, Wallace and Patricia Dobrzynski (McGorman).
Loved ones are encouraged to reflect on Rosie's favorite Psalm, Psalm 23, in her memory. A celebration of life will be held in the spring.
