Tracie Lee Bunton, 69, of Valparaiso, Indiana, passed away Friday, Oct. 3, 2025.
She was born Sept. 13, 1956, in South Bend to the late Frank Bush III and JoAnn May (Adnson) Bush. Tracie graduated from New Prairie High School in 1975, where she met her future husband. She made a positive impact as a teacher's aide with the New Prairie School District for 20 years, specializing in the Title I program helping students learn to read. Tracie also ran a small floral business in New Carlisle for many years called "Ivy Lane Creations."
She enjoyed traveling with her husband, spending time on the lake, and doting on her beloved grandchildren. Tracie will be remembered for her tender heart and the kindness she showed to everyone she met. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be deeply missed.
On June 30, 1979, at the Community Church in New Carlisle, Tracie married the love of her life, James "Jim" Bunton, who survives, along with their daughters, Jessica (Kyle) McFatridge of Carmel, Indiana, and Melanie (Peter) Lawniczak of New Berlin, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Ava and Katelyn McFatridge, and Dean and Camren Lawniczak; siblings, David (Annette) Bush, Evanna Schaefer, Cindy (Bob) Lowther and Nate (Tanya) Bush; and sister-in-law, Janet Bush.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Matt Bush; mother-in-law and father-in-law, June and Richard Bunton; and brother-in-law, Jon Schaefer.
A visitation will be held on Oct. 18, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Road, Valparaiso, with a memorial service beginning at 12 p.m. Burial will follow at Angelcrest Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made in Tracie's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
