Albert Dionise Lansing Albert mercifully passed away to the afterlife on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing. Born "Alberto Dionisio" on February 23, 1926 in S. Ippolito (Consenza), Italy he was the son of Nicola and Lucia (Spagnuolo) Dionisio. A proud product of the Italian educational system, Albert graduated and was subsequently awarded the status of "Land Surveyor" for the Republic of Italy. He left the old country and with great anticipation, crossed the Atlantic Ocean aboard the Italian Ocean Liner "Andrea Doria" on what was to be its last successful voyage before it sank, stepping off onto American soil in New York City on April 16, 1956. He became a very proud American Citizen in 1962, but respectfully retained his birthright to Italian Citizenship as a dual citizen. Albert completed a 35-year career between his work at "Chicago Aerial Survey" in Chicago, Illinois and "Abrams Aerial Survey" in Lansing, Michigan. He retired in 1992 and was honored for his 31 years of dedicated service to Abrams. Albert was very interested in ancient history, was a debater of global politics, a lover of nature and gardening, and most importantly, a man of God and his family. Surviving are his sons, John (Evelyn) Dionise of Brighton, Richard Dionise of Chicago, Anthony (Dawn) Dionise of Grand Ledge, Mark (Anne Marie) Dionise of DeWitt; grandchildren, Albert, Nick, Luke, Gabriella, Christopher, Frankie, Isabella; brothers, Louis (Elenor) Dionise of Lansing, Mario (Emily) Dionise of Holt; sisters, Assunta (Mario) Caruso of Italy, Esterina (Guiseppe) Naccarato of Toronto, Canada, Rosaria Spagnuolo of Lansing; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Maria (Filippelli) Dionise; his parents, Nicola and Lucia Dionisio; and 3 brothers. Visitation will be 2-4, 6-8 p.m. Thursday (today), July 24, 2008 with a 7:00 p.m. Rosary at Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 West Saginaw, Lansing 48917. The Funeral Liturgy will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 25, 2008 at St. Gerard Catholic Church, 4437 W. Willow, Lansing 48917 with visitation 1 hour prior at church. Father John P. Klein, presiding.
