Anthony Weimer Obituary

Anthony J. Weimer "Tony" DeWitt Twp. Passed away Friday, January 31, 2014 at Eaton Community Palliative Care under the loving care of his family. He was born February 11, 1924 in Laraby, Iowa the son of Joseph and Anna (Woefel) Weimer. Tony married Marlyce Davis and she preceded in death in 2000 after 50 years of marriage. Tony is also preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah Weimer. Tony was a longtime active member of St. Therese Church and attended St. Gerard's as well. He enjoyed working in his garden in his backyard. Tony served our country in the U.S. Navy and was a retired member of the Boiler Makers Union Local 169 in Detroit. He is survived by son, Timothy (Carmen) Weimer; daughters, Kathryn Weimer, Lisa Weimer and Colleen (Phil) Lemke and 3 grandchildren, Brad (Leanne) Weimer, Jennifer (Justin) Barath and Britton Auer. Tony's family will celebrate his life on Friday, February 7, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at St Therese Catholic Church with Father John Fain officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation Thursday from 4-8PM at Tiffany Funeral Home, Lansing with a Rosary at 7:30 PM. Viewing will be 1 hour prior to the service at church on Friday. A favorite patient of mine. He insisted on a smile and always got one. He could have written the book on flirting. I will miss him.
