Arvid Hansen Obituary
Lansing
Passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at the age of 89. Born on November 21, 1924 to Hjalmar and Annie (Arntson) Hansen in Mancelona, MI. Arvid graduated from Sexton High School class of 1942 and joined the US Marine Corps immediately following. He proudly served his country during WWII as a member of the Marines and Navy. Arvid returned home and married his wife Maxine in 1947. He worked for Hasselbring Clark until the mid 1960's, and later for Lakeland Dental in supply delivery where he received the Million Mile Plaque. Arvid left a lasting mark on everyone he came in contact with, and will always be remembered for his great sense of humor.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Jody; 4 brothers, and 1 sister.
Surviving are his daughter, Judy (Jerry Vsetula) Hansen; grandson, Erik (Lauri) Hansen; and many beloved nieces, nephews and extended family.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, November 21, 2014 at Skinner Funeral Home, Lansing Chapel with visitation starting at 9:00 AM. For those desiring memorial contributions may be made to Grace Lutheran Church. For online condolences please visit www.SkinnerFuneralHomes.com

I have a hundred great memories of Arv and the Hansen family. Arv's (Mr. Hansen to me)great wit, playfulness and respectful way he treated the kids in the neighborhood helped make Dornell a great place to grow up. As a creative and optimistic personality your influence went throughout the neighborhood.

Arv and Mickey were neighbors of ours when I was growing up. I'll always remember Arv's sense of humor...he had a twinkle in his eye, and a way of describing the most mundane things in a funny fashion.
Not quite a year ago, I called Arv....I hadn't spoken with him in about forty years. We had a great conversation...I'm sure glad I called. Rest in Peace, Arvid Hansen, you touched the hearts of a lot of people, especially the legions of kids who grew up on Dornell back in the 1960s.
