Clifford Fardell Obituary

Clifford "Kip" Fardell

Okemos

On the morning of December 22, Kip was released from this life and taken home to live with God in everlasting peace. Kip was 64 years old.  Born on August 24 in Detroit, Michigan. He was the eldest of three children born to Eileen and Robert Fardell.

Blessed with a mind spilling over with ideas and a desire to learn, Kip became not a man with hobbies, but a man with passions. A passion for education, for the sea, for sun, for nature and for speed, whether by sailboat, skis, or car, Kip moved through this world like a graceful force doing good wherever he could and taking care of people who weren't as strong as he was.

Kip was preceded in death by his father, Robert, and a baby daughter. He is survived by his mother, Eileen; wife, Barbara (Kloster); son, Frank Alexander; daughter, Anna Alyce Corniel (Allen); grandson, Charles Corniel; brother, George; sister, Mary Robinson (Jim); and friends and family too numerous to list.

A Celebration of Kip's life will be held at 1:00 Friday, January 16, 2015 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 955 Alton, Rd. East Lansing, MI with visitation from noon to 1:00.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kip's name to the Father Fred Foundation in Traverse City. www.fatherfredfoundation.com/donate/memorial-gifts

Oh Kipper, Ive been trying to track you down for a few years and came across this. Makes me profoundly sad. Been thinking a lot about those old Squaw Valley days. I was able to see our old roomie Glen a couple years ago. I have a season pass at Squaw this year, first senior pass. Ill be thinking about our times on the mountain together this season. Sleep well old friend and Ill see you on that endless powder run when I get there.

Kip was an amazing creative/innovative thinker. He always had new ideas, new projects, better, faster, different ideas to improve this world as he knew it. He was my husbands hero and Jeff is devastated by this loss of such a wonderful, giving, caring friend. "Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared." -Buddha. Kip shared so much happiness with all of us. May his light shine forever. Barb - you and your family have been in our thoughts and will always be in our thoughts, just like Kip, good people live with us forever.

This morning I went to the site of the former Grille following church services. Recalled our big adventure leaving Atlanta to move collectively to this area, near the water. Kip encouraged positive change and forward thinking before they became popular terms. He was a thinking man, an educator, and a really good guy. And, he was inspired and encouraged by a remarkable and unconditional love...
