David - you will be missed.

I have known you only for 6-8 months but we struck a chord when doing the ICE audits for CEPI. You had a wonderful can do attitude. Your genuine and no nonsense personality was great and it was a delight having had worked together for the brief period. God had a different plan for you.

May the Lord provide Karrie, the children and family the strength to tide over this difficult time. Please accept my heartfelt condolences. Am glad I had the opportunity to work with Dave.

We express our deepest sympathy during this tragic time. Dave was truly a standup guy, always willing to help others without expecting anything in turn. Dave was always selfless in donating his time and energy. Dave would often stop by to chit-chat with us to catch up on how our families were doing. We will truly miss that time together. The last couple of years were able to visit Dave and Karrie at the cottage along with some special friends and Dave made sure we all had a great time. Dave had a positive influence on so many of us and for that we are all very grateful. Thank You Dave you will truly be missed.

Karrie, Jeffrey, Jessica, Pat, John and Tom, I know how devastating it is to lose David, your husband, Dad, Son and Brother. My heart aches for you. I am so deeply sorry for your loss. My sympathies, condolence and prayers.

I am TOTALLY devastated losing my David. He was one of my kids. I was his Ma. From 1975-1980 the Delta Presbyterian Church Youth Group was our family. Ron was Pa, I was Ma. David was one of our favorite kids. It was the tightest group of young people from both GL and Waverly brought together through the new inspiring church called Delta. They were all really good young people. Not a naughty one in the bunch. David was one of the most outgoing, friendly, loving and helpful. On any given week day we would have kids at our house for a couple hours, on weekends until midnight. But it was OK because their parents knew they were with us. David was one we could always expect to be there, he was in the inner circle.

We met up with David and Pat last winter for lunch in Punta Gorda. He never quit talking, about his kids, his new job, his kids again, biking. Pat interjected, David likes to talk. But he was so proud of his kids. He loved his family.

David was loved by so many. Every life he touched was better off for knowing him. Many of his friendships remained from that church group, Many friendships spanned over forty years. He was a committed friend. He will be missed. Pat Baker, thanks for sharing your boy.

I've written. erased. rewritten. only to erase again. as I struggle to gather the right words to tell you how much our work and personal relationship has meant to me over the nearly 14 years since I started at the State supporting education, and in turn you. a relationship that will be irreplaceable. you taught me a lot along the way. what was once a young green 25 year old fresh out of college, has a lot to thank you for why I am where I am today. just as we were discussing over the last couple years as you were nearing retirement and how I refused to accept it. not only because of your profound ability as a DBA not easily replaced, but the wonderful off topic laughs and conversations we shared along the journey. not to mention the numerous friendly MSU/UM jabs that were often exchanged during football and basketball seasons. now I sit here only wishing to be able to replace this moment, with that joyous retirement party. I'll miss you dear friend.
