Dineshchandra Shah Obituary

Dr. Dinesh Shah Okemos Dineshchandra O. Shah merged with God on May 12, 2013. He was born in Dabhoi, India on June 2, 1948. He is survived by his loving wife Jyotsna Shah and children Neha (Anupam), Heena (Barrot), and Shreya, and grandchildren Avinash and Neal. He is also survived by his siblings Thakor Shah (Taru), Navin Shah (Kunjalata), Hasmukh Shah (Varsha), and Prasanna Redey (Bidhan) and Jyotsna's mother, Kapilaben Shah, and siblings Harsha Parikh (Nayan), Trupti Patel (Dinesh), and Upendra Shah (Arti). He moved to Lansing, MI in 1980 and as a cardiologist, he saved and improved many lives, practicing for over 30 years. Dinesh was highly revered and loved by his patients. He was a respected and active member of the local Indian community as well as the broader Lansing community. Sahaj Marg meditation was an important part of his life and he traveled far and wide to fulfill and grow on his spiritual journey. He encouraged and supported his daughters to pursue higher education and created fellowships for those who didn't have such access. Dinesh loved spending time with his grandkids, travelling around the country and the world, and playing tennis and golf. He was known for his deep generosity, resilience, resourcefulness, quirky sense of humor, rigorous work ethic and integrity. In his life, he overcame remarkable obstacles to create a meaningful career and rich home life filled with many friends and family. While he is no longer with us, his accomplishments, impact, and spirit will always live on. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 11:00 a.m., at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 E. Grand River Ave., East Lansing. Its been a year. Not a day goes by that I don't think of you, or quote something that you've said, or told a funny story, or just reflected on good times.

I often feel that its just a bad dream and I am going to wake up, go to work, and you will be there!
Leaving the office was the hardest choice I have done, but not any harder then coming in to work everyday and not seeing your face. There is a large void that will never be filled. When you work side by side with someone for so many years, and you know the others expectations and manner, its hard to forget or move on!
We always joked that I would stay in the office until you retired. After your untimely departure I was left with decision to stay or leave. It was almost like you were opening a door of opportunity for me and my family as I chose to take another job opportunity.

As this year has gone by I always regret not saying goodbye on that Friday after you left the office. Its something I have had to learn to deal with and except. It was a life lesson I learned to never let anyone leave without saying goodbye, it could be the last goodbye, as it would have been ours.
You were always so caring and generous. So many times after the morning patients were gone we would have our chats, and I would get advise. I miss those!

You always supported me in all my hard times and many good. I looked to you as a father figure and valued your wisdom and knowledge.

I always loved the compassion you had for your patients and their families, and I carry that with myself everyday. There is not one patient that did not have a story to tell about how you helped them or someone they knew. You are truly one of a kind.

On my desk I have a picture of you, your smile so big I know you are with me everyday. There will never be a person that can fill your place here on earth. I will see you again.

Rest In Peace, please continue to watch over and guide me as you always have done.
~Nichole

Dear Family,

Dr. Shah watched over my father for many years and he had a great sense of humor, compassion, and common sense knowledge. He was truly a credit to his profession. He spoke often of the love of his family. We are deeply saddened by his passing but are truly grateful to have known him and grateful for the compassion he showed my father over many years. Dear Brother, thank you so much for all your support and love to Sons, Daughters of Ochchhavlal Manilal Shah and Savitaben Shah and other familyy members. You provided everyone support for their needs without any expectations and rewards. You served your parents all time until they pass away. You help every who needs based on training from your parents who worked hard to help other and provide education and make our our life better with great scarification. You deed same way and your parents and family members are proud of it. We love you all time and miss you too.
Dinesh Shah was Born on June 2, 1948 in Dabhoi, India, He was my younger brother but he took responsibility like elder brother to help parents and family member to provide better life. I push little and cause little in comfort zone and put him in this awkward situation to him and his family members to this day for to provide better life for my brothers and sisters and including myself due to selfish thinking. My brother, Jyotsna,Neha, Heena and Shreya I feel real sorry for this situation and kindly request you to pardon for my mistake. I hope you and your family members will do it.

You were always there for all who need your help. There is not a single in words that describe how much you have helped our family and community. Everyone respect you and are more than grateful. Your contributions have and will impact everyone and family members lives. You fought against poverty and uncomfortable situation to provide better life to everyone by hard work, personal scarify and honestly. You teach us how to help other. It is great example. You life was simple after achieving and leave like a common man and that is unbelievable.
He was great person never anger on any one under any circumstances.
Everyone and we will remember your talks, advise and side fun., We recently as late March of this year get to gather and talked about how to take care of family members even we are old. We are glad we could all be together as a family.
My lovely brother I miss you not as a brother but greatest st human being with open and kind heart. open hand to help other with love and open thought to serve other day night. My prayer for peace to your soul.
Our prayer to Lord Krishna to provide paradise, peace to your soul, opportunity to serve him and keep under his umbrella.

Much love and respect to Jyotsna who came as daughter to our family and the entire family. You are in our constant thought and we will keep your dynasty.

Wish you much peace and comfort.
Jayshree Krishna from all of us.

Deepest condolences are extended to the family of Dr. Dineshchandra Shah. It saddens me to learn that he has transitioned at such an early age. Dr. Shah was LeDora Gary's (my mother)cardiologist for many years. I can hear him saying her name in my mind. She transitioned in 2007, after suffering from the residuals of Lupus which affected her heart. Over the years, even though the two would argue, they established a wonderful, understanding doctor/patient relationship. It is my opinion that the care Dr. Shah so graciously provided extended her life to the age of 73. He has extended the lives of many, which had a lasting impact upon the families of his patients. He will be sorely missed as a dynamic cardiologist, for the many contributions he made to the medical profession, and most importantly for the lives he saved and extended. Deep sympathy.

One of the nicest fellow Indian I met when I relocated myself from San Diego (CA) back in 1996. He always asked me how he could be helpful when I was struggling to set my foot in this town. Since then we were connected as a friend externally and devotee of God internally.

Dinesh bhai, you know but I am letting your entire family know that I am praying for your peaceful eternal journey to heavenly Father's kingdom. May the Almighty bestow His loving touch to your dear wife and your loving children for their strength, courage and peace to live a life without you.

I had the pleasure of visiting with Dinesh & Jyotsna Shah Saturday evening. We shared some food and laughter as we always do when they come for their dental visit at Troy Dental Care (family member Darshika Shah's office). He was so excited and looking forward to his daughters upcoming wedding. We looked at pictures they took at Holland's Tulip Festival and some of his grandkids. He was a loving man with a beautiful family! I am shocked & sadden to learn of his passing. Dinesh & his wife are 2 of the kindest people I ever met! I still see him smiling and laughing as if he were still with us and he will truly be missed. My prayers are with him & his family at this time of sorrow. May his loving wife and children have the strength to hold on to the memories created & shared with Dinesh for all of eternity. May God bless you all.
