Sending heartfelt condolences to the entire family on the loss of your father Blake. Although I didn't know him personally he sounds like a wonderful man of God. So thankful that you had all this time with him. May your memories sustain you in the lonely days ahead.

Blake and family I am so sorry for your loss. Your dad touched and mentored many people. He was a humble and caring man. His spirit will live on in many lives he touched.

Blake,
My first recollection of your father was watching your squads become Class A powerhouses.
However my first real interaction was after coach brought some of our JV basketball team up for the State basketball tournament with his nudging during practices and chants of "we're on our way, with Mr.A" during games.
He was a brilliant teacher in his advanced math classes and his quiet confidence helped transform us to successes as students and athletes.
Not many people know that he insisted on making himself available to wrap my ankles his 'special way and technique' before each of my Varsity football game.
Don was a gift to many of us and we all take comfort in understanding he is completely healed now and reunited with family.
Blessing to you and yours Blake.

Blake, I'm very sorry for the loss of your father. I remember him well as a coach & teacher at East Lansing High. He was always a man of integrity & compassion. Hope you can find some comfort in knowing he touched the lives of countless students. He was an awesome mentor and everyone he had contact with always came away a better person. He's with God now, fulfilling a life's mission. Our prayers are with you & your family that God wraps his arms around you to provide peace & comfort in this time of grief.
