Hazel McDonald Obituary

Hazel McDonald 91, passed away at her home in Stockbridge, Tuesday, February 18th. She was born in 1922 in Caledonia, MS, to Thomas and Bessie (Duncan) Andrews. She married Pat McDonald in 1942, who preceded her in death in 2003. The last of eight siblings, she is survived by her three children; Patricia McDonald, of Stockbridge, MI, Dianne (Ron) Fors, of Holt, MI and Larry (Kathee) McDonald of Laingsburg, MI, and her extended family of grandchildren and great grandchildren, The Hoopers, of Dimondale, MI. Hazel worked for IBM in Columbia, TN, during WWII, processing payroll for the War Dept. and later as a data processor for a traffic research project at M.S.U. during the 1960s. During her later life she enjoyed working as a nanny for several families who became life-long friends. She was an animal lover, an avid gardener and grower of everlastings. She willed her body to the Dept. of Anatomy at M.S.U. and there will be a family memorial service at a later date. Donations may be made to Heartland Hospice, 865 S. Cedar St., Mason, MI, 48854, or to the ASPCA. Arrangements by Caskey-Mitchell Funeral Home, Stockbridge, MI.
