Jean Dimet Obituary

Jean F. Dimet Lansing Jean Dimet, age 85, died Wednesday, July 22, 2009 in Lansing. Jean was born October 16, 1923 in Lake Linden, Houghton County, Michigan and was the son of Jean M and Henriette (Aubin) Dimet. He graduated from Lake Linden High School and attended Michigan Technological College. Jean was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving in WWII and the Korean War. He retired from Fisher Body in 1985 after 31 years of faithful service. Jean enjoyed the Whirlaway Square Dance Club, was involved with Boy Scouts, French Canadian Genealogy and was a part of the Mid-Michigan Genealogy Society. He is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Joseph Aubin Patrick Dimet. Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Therese (DuLong) Dimet; sons, Duane (Marti) Dimet, Dale Patrick (Carol) Dimet; daughter, Darlene (Rex) Holberg; grandchildren, Daniel Holberg, Ryan Holberg, Andrea Dimet, Aaron Dimet, Jon Dimet, Linda Dimet, Karen (Nathan) Dimet Crouse, Emily Dimet, Kelly Dimet; great-grandchildren, Taylor Holberg, Elayana Dimet, Tyson Crouse, Isaiah Hansen; niece, Lisa Leonard; nephew, Jon Leonard. Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 24, 2009 with a 7:00 p.m. Vigil Service at Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 West Saginaw, Lansing 48917. The Funeral Liturgy is 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 25, 2009 at St. Gerard Catholic Church, 4437 W. Willow Hwy, Lansing 48917 with Father Prabhu Lakra, officiating. Rite of Committal is St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Gerard Catholic Church in memory of Jean.
