Leo Joseph Nicholas

Lansing, MI - Age 87, passed away, Sunday, December 3, 2017. Leo was born March 20, 1930 to John and Jocelyn (Krantz) Nicholas. He was an active member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Lansing and Knights of Columbus, Richard Council #788. He retired from Tyco Security after many years of service. Leo was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Patricia Nicholas in 2013; brother and sister in law, George (Betty) Nicholas. He is survived by his brother, Arthur (Hazel) Nicholas; children, Stephanie (Stephen) Teall, John Nicholas, Gregory (Kathy) Nicholas and William(Judy) Nicholas; grandchildren, Chad (Hope) Bennett, Brandy Perdue, Brent Nicholas, Chastitie (Joel) Mitchell, Nathan Nicholas, Michael Nicholas, Courtney (Matt) Riggins, Marilyn Hall, Jessica (James) Martin, Justin Nicholas and Sabrina (Mike) Hayhoe; great grandchildren, Jacob, Cheyenne and Chad Jr. Bennett, Kayla Walsh, Isabella and Aidan Perdue, Kylie and Jay Fouchey, Parker and Hunter Riggins, Dennis Malcom, Noah and Taylor Martin, James, Lona and Zalaina Nicholas, Patricia and Sophia Hayhoe. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and many friends. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated, Saturday, December 9, 2017, 11:00 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. John Byers as celebrant. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends, Thursday, December 7, 2017, from 6-8 PM at the Palmer, Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Home, Lansing Chapel where a rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association, Alzheimer's Association or American Heart Association in memory of Leo. The family would like to thank all of the staff at Island City Assisted Living, Great Lakes Caring and Mother Teresa House for all of their kind and loving care they showed to Leo, it will never be forgotten.
