Marion Elizabeth Hamilton

Marion Elizabeth Hamilton Hastings Marion Elizabeth Hamilton passed away peacefully at Thornapple Manor in Hastings, Michigan on January 26, 2012 at the age of 94. Mrs. Hamilton was born June 2, 1917, to John and Jane (Trumble) Callahan in Assyria Township, Barry County. She enjoyed crocheting afghans for her big wonderful family. Marion was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great great grandmother. She was a member of the Pleasantview Family Church in Dowling, enjoyed leading ladies Bible studies, and loved trivia. She was very proud of her family and was known as a prayer warrior and her sisters called her "the visiting sister." Marion Hamilton is survived and fondly remembered by her daughters Laura (Ron) Avery of Hastings, Phyllis (Robert) Homan of Bellevue, Virginia (Earl) Ryan of Nashville, Charlene (Lynn) Preston of Mason, Maxine (Leonard) Pixley of Nashville, Millie (Jack) Carlson of Battle Creek, Neva (Steve) McMillon of Bellevue; her 16 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren; son by choice Bob (Marjie) Mahar of Grand Rapids, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband of 52 years, Howard Hamilton, in 1987, 2nd husband, William Hamilton, in 2003, sisters Maude (Claude) Mahar, May (Chester) Vaughn, and brothers Roy and Bernard (Una) Callahan. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Pleasantview Family Church in Dowling, with Pastor Steve Olmstead officiating. The family will receive visitors Sunday 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm and Monday 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Bellevue. Memorial donations in Marion's memory may be made to Pleasantview Family Church.
