Mark L. "Stevens" Elfenbein

Mark L. "Stevens" Elfenbein Holt Age 56, died of cancer October 14, 2009 in Lansing with his family at his side. He was born July 7, 1953 in Queens, NY, the son of Milton and Miriam Elfenbein. After his graduation from Miami Killian Senior High School, Mark began his journey into a long, successful career in Radio Broadcasting where he was a leader and admired mentor of his trade. Lovingly known as "The Evil" Mark Stevens, he worked as Program Director and On-Air Personality for Lansing stations WJXQ and WMMQ. He enjoyed the last years of his life employed as Marketing Manager for Dan Henry Distributing, where he was surround by devoted friends and colleagues. Mark was committed to his work on Lansing's annual Common Ground music festival. He loved telling a great joke and a having a good laugh. He was a dedicated husband and father whose love will be cherished forever. Mark is survived by his adoring wife of 32 years, Sheila; daughter, Gina; son, Ian; brother, Chet; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his infant son, Jonathan; parents; and brother, Bill. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 19, 2009, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel, with Rabbi Michael Zimmerman, of Congregation Kehillat Israel, officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
