Odes "Alabama" Lee Posey

Odes "Alabama" Lee Posey, 82, died May 8th, 2014, on his wife's birthday, with family by his side.  He was born in Blount County, Alabama.  He served in the Army from Dec. 1947 through Dec 1951 and was a Korean War Veteran.  He retired from General Motors in 1989.  He loved to hunt, dogs, bluegrass music, playing cards and entertaining.  Most of all, he loved his family.  He also volunteered for many years at the Portland Senior Citizens Center. 

He is survived by his sister Kathleen (Raymond) Posey-Caudle, of North Carolina, 2 sons: David (Anita) Merson, of Maryland and Michael Posey, of Ohio. One stepdaughter, Karen Remington, one stepson, Robert Remington and one stepdaughter in law, Linda Remington.  His grandchildren: Lisa (Troy) Hall, Bill Remington, Greg (Robin) Snyder, April (Steve) Elliott, Melissa (Matt) Reay, Jason (Lynsay) Remington, Nicole (Nathan) Fenner, Jessica (Matt) Stapleton, Samantha Posey, Megan Merson and Mike Posey.  He also has 17 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Loretta Posey, one sister Juanita Posey-Norton, and one brother JH Posey, one stepson Harold Remington. 

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 19, 2014 at Danby Township Cemetery, Portland, with Military Honors provided by the Portland V.F.W. Post #4090.  Immediately following the services, a time of family visitation and lunch will be held at the Portland V.F.W. Hall, 1324 E. Bridge Street, Portland.  Arrangements are entrusted to Lehman Funeral Homes, Portland.  On line condolences may be made at www.lehmanfuneralhomes.com
