Thank you for sharing Pat Wheeler with the Greater Lansing Community. Pat is a woman that I greatly admire and her passion and patience have served as a model for my own life. Pat made our community a much better place and those that worked with her are now called to step-up collectively to fill the void she leaves on this earth. I am pleased to know that she will be in heaven watching over and guiding our community.
With love and gratitude,

I will miss this lady so much. I recently moved to New York State and Pat did not once mention her illness. I didn't even know she was sick. When my mother passed in late May, she sent a warm note of condolence and on a few occasions has inquired how I was doing in my transition. This was Pat - always thinking of others. Grace and beauty in real life form. As individuals and as a community we have lost a great friend - and yet I know her words and her actions will live on in all of us. My sincerest condolences to Pat's family and all her loved ones. May time heal your hurt and give you peace.

I had the pleasure of serving on the Greater Lansing Homeless Resolution Network (GLHRN) Board with Pat. She was truly a wonderful person. I greatly appreciated her smile, compassion, dedication, understanding and words of wisdom. My prayers and thoughts continue to be with the family.

I worked at NCA for 8 years and came to know Pat as a person with a large soul and a strong (iron) will. Her strong will was easily past by until she needed it! She leveled me many times with out raising her voice. Pat embodied the Chinese Proverb: "speak with a dagger for a tongue and a tofu heart."

I'm going to miss her big time!

There are no words to express the sadness in my heart. It was an honor working for Pat for twelve years (I can't say she'd say the same about me...LOL). I gave her a run for her patience. Truly the love I carry on in my heart and what she has taught me will live on forever.

Ben and Tom,
Losing one's mother is a loss that no words of comfort exist. I offer my prayers for you and your family. Your mother always offered me a smile and words of encouragement. I will miss knowing she is in the world.

Pat Wheeler what more can I say but that she was an awesome lady. I worked with Pat for many years and would you know we only met each other in person twice. The work she did in the community was so important and her passing has left a large gap. My prayers and thoughts are with her family.
