Dr. Paul A. Kelly, 78, of DeWitt, MI passed away August 30, 2015. Paul was born December 17, 1936 in Cleveland, Ohio to Henry Krawcewicz (Kelly) and Jeanne (Tomaszewski) Kelly. He was an avid reader, especially in history and sports. Paul grew up in Cleveland and was a lifelong fan of Ohio State, the Cleveland Browns, and the Cleveland Indians. Paul's license plate even read "BUCEYE" for the Ohio State Buckeyes. He attended John Carroll University, and graduated from the Ohio State University Medical School in 1963. Paul served as a colonel in the United States Air Force from 1964 to 1987. He went to work for Sparrow Hospital until 2000, and Hayes Green Beach from 2000-2006 as an O.B./G.Y.N, delivering thousands of babies throughout the years.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Matt Kelly. Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of 25 years, Cynthia (Cindy) Kelly; children, Aimee (Matt) Buchanan, Aimee Kelly, Cole Kelly, Austin (Iggy) Kelly, Jaylyn Kelly, and Shayne Kelly; grandchildren, De'Andre, Alex, Courtney, Danielle, and Jasper; sister, Judith (Judy) Kelly; and brother, Dr. John (Chris) Kelly.

A prayer service will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at 12:00 pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, DeWitt Chapel, 205 E. Washington St., DeWitt. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Cindy and family, I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Paul Kelly at Sparrow Labor and Delivery for many years. He was an easy going, fun loving, caring physician with a great sense of humor. I saw him do some of the most difficult deliveries with ease. He always held a pizza party for the L&D staff every holiday season at DeLuca's. I worked with Dr. Kelly on L&D, at Sparrow,all the years he was there. He was a very fine Physician...caring, competent, and a pleasure to work with. His patients loved him and so did all the nurses. He had a wonderful sense of humor and knew so many "fun facts". He was a good friend as well. I missed him when he left Sparrow! He will be remembered with great affection. My condolences to the family.

I also worked with Dr. Kelly at Sparrow Labor & Delivery for many years. He was a pleasure to work with, an excellent doctor with a good sense of humor and he respected the nurses' contributions to the care of his patients. I am very sorry to hear of his passing. He was a good man and will be missed.
