Peter Rottenbucher Obituary

Peter John Rottenbucher III Mr. Peter John Rottenbucher III was blessed to be united with his Loving Savior and Lord on Tuesday, March 3, 2009. He was preceded in death by his son David, in 2005 and his sister Terri Kay (Rottenbucher) Pomorski. He is survived by his loving wife, Donna; his daughters, Dianne, Denise and Kristin; his son, Peter John; his 2 sisters, Nancy (Rottenbucher) Knowles of Monroe, Beth Ann (Rottenbucher) Scarpaci of Mesa, Arizona; and his brother, Brother James Rottenbucher C.S.C. of Monroe. He has 8 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter. He married Donna Jean LaVigne in 1956 in Monroe, and relocated to Eaton Rapids in 1961. They purchased Heaton's Drug Store in 1962, and after 10 years renamed the store Rottenbucher Pharmacy. His random acts of kindness were contagious. He was respected and loved by many, for his caring and unselfish generosity for all. He will be greatly missed by all who had the honor of knowing him. He was a 1956 graduate of the University of Michigan, School of Pharmacy, where he was both the vice president of his pharmacy class and member of the senior board. He was a member of the Eaton Rapids school board, Knights of Columbus, and various pharmacy organizations. He provided pharmaceutical services for the Eaton Rapids Community Hospital for many years. The family will be receiving visitors on Friday, March 6th from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Skinner Funeral Home at 315 South River Street, Eaton Rapids. There will also be a visitation at St. Peter's Church, 515 East Knight Street, on Friday, March 6th, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. The funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, March 7th, at St. Peter's Church at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either St. Peter's Catholic Church or The Eaton Rapids Community Hospital Emergency Room building fund.
