Phyllis Eileen Nolan

Lansing, MI - Age 91, went to be with The Lord, Monday, November 12, 2018. Phyllis was born August 2, 1927, in Toledo, OH the daughter of S. Byron and Rose (Weipert) Gilday. Phyllis has been a Lansing resident since 1983, moving from Saginaw, MI. She was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church in Saginaw prior to the move. Phyllis then became a member of St. Gerard Catholic Church here in the Lansing area. She was a devoted mother and Catholic who spent much of her time volunteering at her children's school and also at church. Phyllis loved to play and teach bridge well into her later years. She volunteered at St. Lawrence Hospital for many years. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend will be dearly missed by all that knew her. She was preceded in death by her brother, Edward Gilday; sister, Rosemary Gordon; son-in-law, Edward Boehm and granddaughter, Paige Manwell. Phyllis is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, James Nolan; children, Patricia Boehm, Kathleen (Terry) Manwell, Barbara (Kevin) Hendrick, Michelle Bullinger, Mary (Mike) Shimek and Robert (Desiree) Nolan; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. A celebration of the Christian Mass will be, Saturday, November 17, 2018, 11:00 AM at St. Gerard Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Vincent Richardson as celebrant. The family will receive relatives and friends, Friday, November 16, 2018 from 2-5 PM at the Palmer, Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Home, Delta Chapel. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the charity on one's choice in memory of Phyllis.
