Dick is my Uncle on my mom's side with the 15 brothers and sisters. I have so enjoyed reading each of your kind words about my Uncle. He was everything you all said and so much more. I am hoping everyone that knew him will try to keep the acts of kindness going - he surely made our world a better place to live and we are all better folks for having him in our lives. Love you Uncle Dick! Nice tributes, Marc and Paul ... he sure loved his grandchildren!! God Bless!

Grandpa,
I think everyone that knew you would agree that men like you are rare in this world. Your moral fiber was evident in everything you did in your life; from your childhood to your time in service, throughout your career at Lindell Drop Forge, and in your relationship with Grandma, your children and grandchildren (and I'm sure cousings, nieces, nephews, etc.). You set so many examples for your family of what it means to be a good person, many of which are unattainable by the average man or woman. Your kindness, selflessness, honesty, loyalty, and ambition made you successful in your career, but moreso than that, it has left an imprint on my life that I will carry with me forever. I feel privileged to have had you in my life for 30 years.
I'll miss so many things about you, but more than anything I'll miss the many golf outings that we had over the years. A lasting image I will have is of the last church scramble we played in together (2007?). Though neither one of us were Jack Nicklaus in our own right, on that day we worked together like a fine tuned machine! We took second place that day but that didn't matter one bit...it was the most fun I ever had on a golf course!
Forever missed, but never forgotten.
Love,
Marc

My sympathies to the Bowman family. My dad is Robert "Bobby" Lindell who died in 1987. I remember Mr. Bowman vividly through the eyes of a 15 year old and remember how well respected and valued he was at the Lindell Drop Forge. What a blessing that your family were all able to enjoy Mr. Bowman as the leader of your family for so many years. My sympathies to all of you.
Peace,

So sad to read of Dick's passing. I have always enjoyed our conversations and competition at the bowling alley (Zion vs. Emmanuel). We all will miss his upbeat enthusiasm. We know that he is laughing with the angels now....

We'll always remember Richard - and all of you. Such a wonderful family. Richard and my dad enjoyed each other very much as room mates at Ingham County Medical Care Facility. Our most heartfelt wishes go out to you.
