Mr. O was an amazing coach. I still picture him on the end of the bench at my slow pitch softball games.

So sorry to hear of Dick's death. Herb & I both enjoyed talking to him at the Mega Mall. He was a wonderful person, spending the time, effort and money that he did coaching baseball.

It breaks my heart that I can't be there to say goodbye. Unfortunately I am on the other side of the country on business and can't possibly make it back. Mr. O left a lasting impression on my life that will never be forgotten. I can't imagine a better man to coach and tutor the lives of young men. My condolences go out to Carol and the rest of the Oberlin family. In conclusion, I want to thank you Mr. O for all you did for myself and all of the young men from the northside of Lansing. You left a bookmark on our lives that will never be forgotten. I love you and will always think of you with a smile on my face and warm thoughts in my heart. One example of how big of a heart this man had was one weekend my family was leaving on vacation but I wanted to play a weekend tournament in Ada. Mr. O let me stay with him for the weekend and volunteered to take me up to my parents once the weekend was over. He drove me 2 hours out of his way because he knew it was important to me. Thank you Mr. O.

Dick and I were friends years ago when I first came to Lansing and somehow managed to lose track of each other. We did play quite a bit of pool together over the years. Rest in peace old friend. And my best to you Ruth.
