Richard Spalding Obituary
Valrico, FL - Richard L. Spalding, 77, passed away Sept. 25, 2018 at his home.
Richard was born in Lansing, MI on Oct. 11, 1940, the son of Marshall C. and Norma E. Spalding of Perry, MI.
Richard grew up in Perry, MI, played sports and was the Senior Class President of Perry High School (Class of 1958). He attended Alma College and Western Michigan University, where he earned a degree in Business Administration. His career was spent as an executive in the banking industry in California, Michigan and Florida.
Richard was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather. He never met a stranger and we will all cherish our many memories of him. We will forever carry them in our hearts!
Richard is survived by his wife, Janis Spalding; children, Jeff (Sara) Spalding, Lesli (Glenn) Frank, Megan (Philip) Levin and Tyler Spalding; brother, Robert (Arleen) Spalding; sisters, Janet (Bud) Kuppler and Jeanne Ann (Larry) Fountain; former wife, Sharon Spalding (Laux); 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, Marshall and Norma Spalding and a sister, Marilyn. At his request, no services will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or a charity of your choice.

Richard was a fortunate man- he was loved and respected by family, friends, and in his business contacts. He loved golf, and would hitchhike to the nearest town with a golf course in order to play. Betcha you did not know that his college golf coach wanted him to turn pro. Richard you left your family far too young,; may you Rest In Peace.
