Richard Towns Obituary

Richard E. Towns

Richard E. Towns, 87, passed away July 7 in Charlotte. He was born in Jackson, MI on January 20, 1929 to Cecil and Florence Towns and was raised on the family farm outside of Rives Junction. He was a 1946 graduate of Leslie High School.

Dick was co-owner of Superior TV Sales and Service in Lansing for many years until he retired in 1988 and became a permanent resident of Duck Lake with his wife Ann.

He's survived by his wife of 66 years, Ann (Gilchrist) Towns; daughter Carol (Towns) Kuhr and her husband Kevin Kuhr; son Rick Towns and husband Mark Crossley; sister Martha (Towns) Van Halst and husband Terry Van Halst; grandson Kristopher Kuhr and wife Kelly (Smith) Kuhr; great grandchildren Jackson and Kaitlyn; and many friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his daughter Diane (Towns) Neering.

A celebration of life open house will take place July 30 from 1:00 - 4:00 pm at Duck Lake Country Club, 2728 Country Club Way, Springport, MI. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Arthritis National Research Foundation, www.curearthritis.org or the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, www.bcrfcure.org.  

Arrangements were entrusted to the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel, Litchfield.
