Robert Gladstone Obituary
Stockbridge
Age 86, passed away Wednesday, March 04, 2015 at the Chelsea Retirement Community. He was born on December 5, 1928 in Lansing Twp., MI the son of Roy and Marion Holmes Gladstone. He had lived in the Ingham Co. area most of his life, retiring in 1979 from Central Fiber as Plant Manager after almost 25 years. He attended Kalamazoo College, set the clock at the Chelsea Tower, flew Cessna 172's, and was a member of Inverness Country Club for 25 years. He was also a founding member of Smith's Airport, now known as Howlett Airport. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1950-1952, and was a member of the American Legion Mackinder-Glenn 510 Post of Stockbridge. On September 13, 1953 he married Rowena Lou Lentz, and she preceded him in death on December 22, 1998.
Surviving are four children: Margene Gladstone of Stockbridge, Philip (Karen) Gladstone of Layton, UT, Mark (Mariann) Gladstone of Spring Arbor, and Jeff (Lynda) Gladstone of Chelsea; six grandchildren; one brother Joe (Vicki) Gladstone of Gregory; one brother-in-law Garth Richard of Three Rivers, MI; and one sister-in-law Joyce Raychuck of Florida. He was preceded in death by one sister, Janet Richard, and three half siblings: Donna Williams, Faye Roberts, and Floyd Leach.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. from the Caskey-Mitchell Funeral Home, Stockbridge. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Legion Mackinder-Glenn 510 Post, Stockbridge. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Friday from 6-8 p.m.

Bob, there is hardly a day goes by that I don't think about you. Your smile and always kind word was an inspiration to me. All the guys at the field mention you often, and miss you.

What can I say about someone who has always been a part of my life. Was always funny and made me laugh. You were always a special person to me a great uncle I will miss you so. Rest in Peace . I love you.

My sincerest condolences to the family of Bob Gladstone.
It is very hard for me to put into words the sorrow I am feeling today, but I know the feeling of loss you all are feeling is at this moment is enormous. I hope you all know what a wonderful, kind and thoughtful man he was, I have always said, "if I have ever in my life meant a true Gentleman, Bob Gladstone, was that man". I am really going to miss him at the field, we had some very memorable times there, times I will cherish forever. I will remember the fun we used to have, ribbing each other about some of our not so subtle landings, and the good natured arguments he and Mike would have. I am going to miss him so much.
