Miss Ruthie graciously greeted Me & my husband as we arrived at her idyllic Idlewild lakeside cottage one late summer day. I will never forget her immediately apparent great loveliness, warmth, wisdom & kindness. As she hosted us with treats, She ever so gently corralled us into joining the Idlewild Lake Association. Man, she was one smooth operator!! She was delighted that we would be buying the cottage next to hers. She was devoted to preserving Lake Idlewild. Her devotion inspires me now to do the same.

Just learned of Ruth's passing today. I will sadly miss one of my favorite people, and a dedicated educator with whom I worked at Battle Creek Central. I will miss the good times we enjoyed at her home here, especially during our holiday get-togethers.

We are new next door neighbors of Ruth in Idlewild. We are saddened to learn of her passage, but we will always remember how she welcomed us into her home and welcomed us as new neighbors. I would like to express my sympathy to the family of a great women Mrs.Ruth Burton who was my Counselor while I attended B. C. Central High School graduate of 1971. She made a big difference in my life and I appreciate her care for her students. May you rest In peace and go into God's loving arms. Prayers and thoughts extended to her family at this time of need and sorrow.
