Teri Metros Obituary
On April 1, 2021, Teri Jean Metros passed away after a long battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Bill "Bee" Metros, her daughter, Anastasia, and sister, Sally MacMullan of Bellville, MI.
Teri graduated from Lansing Eastern High School and attended MSU for undergrad and post-grad degrees.
She received her Master's Degree and worked at Eaton County School District, working as a social worker; a job that required a person with the necessary human qualities of compassion, empathy, love, caring, sympathy, et al. Teri had those qualities, both in her professional and personal life.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ralph MacMullan, and her mother, Helen MacMullan.
Teri was bonded with nature; loved walks through the woods and on the beach.
Teri loved flowers/gardening - we could open a garden/flower shop in her memory. She also loved her dogs, Ellie, Sam, and Dave and cat, Paws.
Teri enjoyed spending time with the family and the dogs at the family cottage in Stony Lake, MI. She would walk the dogs before a trip down Stony Creek in her kayak.
She also enjoyed traveling around the country and the world - Taiwan, all over Europe, Mexico, Canada (where Bee proposed to her at the romantic bistro called "LaCuisine - she shockingly said yes), Punta Cana, and Ecuador (where she and Anastasia visited one of our foreign students).
We were blessed by having three foreign exchange students and Teri loved it and, as one student stated, she was "the best host mother ever." She was right.
Teri was loved by family, friends, and co-workers. She will be sorely missed by all.
A Memorial Service will be held, post COVID, beginning at MSU Gardens, followed by a Commemoration at Beggar's Banquet, where Teri and Bee met. If anyone wishes to attend, please contact Bee at [email protected] for date and time.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Teri's favorite charities: Humane Society, Lansing Food Bank, or American Cancer Society.
