Dear TJ, Francie, Chuck and the rest of the family...Tracy was with me on September 11, 2001. I had just flown into Florida from Washington, DC, to plan a catering workshop for the 2002 NACUFS national conference. As I was getting into a taxi, my phone rang. It was Tracy. She calmly told me that my family was fine, but that I needed to call my house in DC to check as soon as possible. What I didn't know yet, was that planes had crashed into the Twin Towers and into the Pentagon, which was 20 miles from my home. I had postponed my trip from September 10 to September 11 because for some reason I didn't want to leave my children that week, but I knew I had to go to help plan the catering workshop that I was to chair in 2002. Tracy, who worked for NACUFS at the time, helped me arrange travel for my mom to come to DC on September 10 so I would feel more comfortable leaving on the 11th. That was how Tracy operated. Always efficient, highly capable and organized, but also very empathetic. On the way to the hotel, I was able to contact a dear friend who picked my children up from school, and arrange for a rental car (20 minutes later all of the rental cars in Orlando were rented). By the time I got to the hotel, Tracy was waiting with a hug and a drink (it didn't matter that it was 10:30 a.m.), she knew what I needed. We continued to watch in horror as the towers came down. I remember Tracy saying - "this must be a joke because it can't be happening." For the next several minutes, we held hands and cried together. When I found out that I couldn't get the rental car until the next day, Tracy arranged to keep us busy. She pulled it together and drove us to "Celebration" where we met with the Disney Institute team. We witnessed, first hand, what it took to close Disney World for the first time in its history - riding around in a golf cart to visit the locations that would host our workshop the following year. Tracy made sure that our appointments would be kept and made sure I wasn't overwhelmed with worry about my girls. Tracy and I talked about how surreal it was to be in the "happiest place on earth" during the "saddest day on earth." The pain was eased a little because Tracy was with me with her dry sense of humor and gift for planning and executing an event.
On September 11, I always think of Tracy. I was going to call her this year to thank her for getting me through that terrible day. Instead, I will light a candle for her and remember her in my prayers.
With Sincere Sympathy and Love

My sympathies are with Tracy’s family. I worked with Tracy at NACUFS and remember her paper clip chain over the open door way to her office. She used it when she did not want to be interrupted. I last saw Tracy exactly one year ago when she came to the DeWitt Chapel when my husband died. She was a person with many dispositions and one just had to read them. Be with God in peace Tracy.

I worked as a volunteer very closely with Tracy during her time at NACUFS and have remained in regular contact via FB since then. I have such fond memories ~ Tracy had a wonderful sense of humor and we would sometimes laugh ourselves silly over some crazy story; she had a great laugh! I still miss her every year at the national conference and now, sadly, I will miss her all year long too.
Sincere sympathy to TJ, his family, her parents, and her brother and family.
May it help to know how much Tracy was loved by so many.

I used to babysit for Tracy while her mother was finishing up law school and my husband was in graduate school. She & my son were both born in 1965. I still remember her huge blue eyes. Can't believe she is no longer with us. All love and supporting thoughts go out to the family. Diana Dachler, Columbia, MD.
