Victor Taylor Obituary

Victor A. Taylor Victor A. Taylor loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away Thursday August 5, 2010 surrounded by his family. He was born September 9, 1925 in Lansing, Michigan and was a lifetime resident. He attended the new J.W. Sexton High School and went on to serve in the United States Navy at the end WW II. He worked for the City of Lansing, Public Works Department and later retired from Atlas Drop Forge where he was very active in UAW Union business and leadership. He was an avid fisherman and fished many Michigan and Canadian lakes. He was a loyal University of Michigan football fan and Indy 500 enthusiast. He also enjoyed traveling with his family and grandchildren in his motor home. He was a member and one of the founders of the Esquire's Men's Club of Lansing. Victor is survived by his wife of 62 years Catherine (Goins) and their three children Gary (Pat), Terrance (Cathy Knot) and Deanna (Sam Hopkins), six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Cleo (Roberts) and his brother Robert. Family will receive friends on Saturday, August 7, 2010 from 1-3 at the Chapel in the Pines Funeral Home. Catherine, we are very sorry to hear about Victor. The both of you were so very kind to us, and we cherish our memories. We knew Vic for about 45 years thru our bowling center, the Lansing Recreation Center, and our lounge, Buzz's Bowling Lounge. We always thought of him as a fine gentleman and friend. Sorry for your loss. BUZZ and JOANIE HART
