William N. "Bill" Hettiger

William "Bill" N. Hettiger Okemos William N. Hettiger passed away November 28, 2009 at the age of 81. Bill was born June 27, 1928 in Pana, Illinois. Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Patsy; son Jack (Patty) Hettiger; and his precious grandchildren, Matthew, Kristina, Christopher, Maggie, and Kate. He was preceded in death by daughter, Kathy. Bill spent many years in public service working as the Chief of Staff for Governor William Milliken, Director of Management & Budget, and Deputy Secretary of State. Upon entering the private sector he was involved in health care and consulting. Bill was very active in the Okemos community. He supported the Okemos Public Schools, OAKS, and Meridian Township. Over the past 20 years his passion was being with his grandchildren. Whether attending a school function, sporting event, or just spending time together, he was most happy when he was with them. Funeral services will be held Saturday December 5th, 2009, at 12:30 p.m. at the Chapel in Deepdale Memorial Gardens, 4110 Old Lansing Rd., Lansing, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Eaton Community Hospice, 2675 S. Cochran, Charlotte, MI, 48813, in memory of Bill.
