Andrew Ortiz Obituary

Andrew Ortiz LUBBOCK-Andrew Andy Ortiz joined ever-lasting life Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015, after a brief illness following injuries he sustained. Andy was born to John and Connie Ortiz, March 5, 1966. He attended Ballenger School in Lubbock until his commencement. He had a very shy but kind demeanor. He had the smile of an angel. He was so sweet and innocent and had the heart of a saint. Andy loved music. His favorite was Tejano music. He enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys and Red Raiders play ball. He loved to dance. Those left to cherish Andy's memory are his siblings: Corina Escamilla, Virginia (Richard) Garza, Albert (Sally) Ortiz, his twin, Andrea Picon (Diego), Melissa (Tommy) Licon, Lori Ann Ortiz-Guerrero and Esperanza (Greg) Flores, all of Lubbock and Leticia Ortiz of Gorton, NY; as well as several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Andy is preceded in death by his parents; and his brother-in-law, Richard Escamilla. Rosary services for Andy will be today at 6 p.m. at Venue on Broadway, 2202 Broadway. The family will begin receiving friends at 5 p.m. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, 2015, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church with Father Jim McCartney officiating. Interment will follow in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park. The family wishes to thank all family and friends for their support, prayers, thoughts, words of kindness and strength during this very difficult time. Andy will truly be missed here on this earthly ground, but is joyfully dancing in heaven. God bless those left behind, but we will reunite in due time. I pray for strength for his precious brother, and sisters. I am sooo sorry for your loss. Continue to dance all you loveded ones, for he is, while Dad plays the guitar and Mom claps and enjoys the sight!!!!! I love you guys and God bless us all. Peace be with you!!!!!!!
